Dehydrating Celery
Dehydrating Celery

Good Morning, Friends….Hope you are having a Good Morning. Sitting here with my morning coffee feeling blessed for the good fortune I was blessed with yesterday. I found bunches of celery for 69 cents each. They have been running about $1.99 each. I use alot of celery, in casseroles, soup, sauces and all kinds of homemade seasonings.

I bought 4 bunches, one for fresh use and 3 to dehydrate for winter soup and for DIY Mrs. D ‘s. I will share my recipe for that soon. I have such a hard time paying almost 5 dollars for that small plastic bottle of seasoning.

I separated all the stalks and washed them. I use every part, including the leaves. I only cut off anything bad. Now was time to start chopping. I chopped three colanders full of celery.

My dehydrator is old and doesn’t have temperature settings, timers or anything fancy. I have been using it so long that I just know how long it takes. For celery, I usually put it in the dehydrator in the afternoon and by morning, it is done. It is so wonderful to have celery for recipes when the price shoots up to $2.99 a bunch.
