Day Two of Starters for Bread
Here is our Sourdough Starter on Day Two. It is still a creamy white and some of the liquid has risen to the top. Yeah!! Things are looking good. If your starter is pink, red or brown..throw it out and start over. If it looks like the one in the picture, give it a quick stir with a wooden spoon and put it back in the corner covered with your cloth or towel.
Here is our starter for the Amish Friendship Bread. See how puffy it is, time to let the air out. The reason, this one is different from the sourdough starter is because of the yeast we added. After you have let the air out and sealed it back up, knead (squish around) and put it back into the corner It should look like this now. Nice and flat.
That is it for Day Two. Easy peasy. We will be doing exactly this for the next few days, Days Three, Four and Five. The next day that we will be doing something different is Day Six. So that is it for Today and our Bread Starters. I hope you are enjoying this series and if you have any questions at all…Please Leave Your Questions in the Comments and I will answer you as soon as possible.
